According to IGN, Activision has today announced an all-new Spider-Man title for the Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 2/3/Portable and PC, in the form of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

The action-adventure game will allegedly take place in an open world environment, allowing players to "be the friendly neighborhood superhero," or to "ignore missions and be the anti-hero who is only looking out for himself."

Additional details are currently scarce, but we do know that Activision will be holding voiceover auditions at this year's New York Comic-Con event. Should any new information arise at said event we'll be sure to let you know.
