Google Not Buying Valve After All

Doug Lombardi dismisses the recent speculation.


Speaking to The Inquirer earlier this week, “well placed sources” reportedly revealed that Google was on the verge of purchasing game developer Valve, in addition to its distribution/online gaming service, Steam.

Kotaku has since been in contact with Doug Lombardi, Valve's Vice President of Marketing, who confirmed that the story was “purely a rumour, a bit of fiction.”

Lombardi has previously suggested that Valve is open the idea of a buyout, it just won't involve Google.
