Compared to the PS3 version, the graphics of the PSP port aren’t up to par. There are better games graphically on the PSP, especially the Burnout series. Still, the environments and cars hold up with sufficient detail for a mediocre game. Each car has its own distinct look, but Full Auto 2 doesn’t employ licensed vehicles. The generic car names turn me off from investing a lot of time and picking a favorite.

My main problem with Full Auto 2, at least on the PSP, is that the controls aren’t as good as I hoped. Several times my missile was sent into oncoming traffic, avoiding any real value of destroying the opposition ahead of me. The development team needed to work hard on this area of the game and improve it with precision. Another problem was that one of the heralded features, the unwreck feature, didn’t work out like it was intended. It often creates more problems than it solves, allowing players to rewind the game, but frequently putting them in the same situation before they rewound.

After a few hours, players will run into the same sound effects and it is downhill from there. The developers have a foundation they can build on if Sega pursues this franchise even further. Full Auto 2: Battlelines is an okay debut for the handheld, though not a great one.
